Random Thought

Recently I have found myself slightly addicted to Refinery 29. There are tons of stories, videos, and slide shows on a number of topics and it always reads like a letter from your BFF. Today I came across an article on 17 of the best dive bars in LA and something inside of me sparked! I love dive bars.... why not open my own? I pick the location, the drinks, the music and even have a way to get my home cooking into the mouths of the masses. What could be better?

Now obviously there would still be a lot of work involved as with any business... and this isn't something I could put into action right away, mostly because of financial reasons but I can dream a little, right? For now I will add this dream to my long list of things that need to happen in the future and instead I will work on getting an apartment large enough to have a few people over for drinks served from my yet-to-be-acquired vintage-style mini bar.

(The super cute bar cart below and many other treasures can be found at Society Social!)

Something like this would be lovely...

The First Ever...

...Rococo Puff bag is now for sale! I am so excited that I finally decided to go for it. I had been coming up with excuse after excuse for why I "wasn't ready" to get my bags out there but I finally made the leap. Now, I know there is only one bag up there right now, but it's the first step. I will be making a few more bags in the next day or so and they will be posted as soon as they're finished. Please go check out my Etsy Shop or my Facebook Page to keep up with all the excitement! Here are a few photos from my first listing:

Two days in a row!

Okay so I'm super excited about all of the great stuff I found at M&L Fabrics! They have a HUGE selection and everything is around the same low prices that you'd see in the LA garment district. The best part is that instead of making the trek to downtown LA, I can just drive around the corner! Not that I don't love a trip downtown, but I like to make a day out of it which can be costly. Even though I wasn't able to buy anything today, I found a lot of things that I really love. I'm most excited about the neon fabrics I found. I want to make some bags with tan faux leather and neon lining, very on trend for the summer! And by the way, the faux leather selection at M&L is also amazing... :)

Let's try this again...

Obviously this blogging thing doesn't come easily to me. I always think back on things like, "Ohh I could have posted something about that..." but it seems silly to do it after the fact. Of course the main reason that I'm posting something now is because I found out that there is a blogger app on my phone. How handy! Now I can easily share this sketch of my next bag (there have been a few clutches and a tote that I failed to post). This one is the Jazzy Crossbody Satchel, named after the nickname I use for my sister because I designed it for her. Hopefully I will remember to provide updates on its progress!
